Andrea Mitchell
Andrea Mitchell, an American journalist and commentator who works with NBC News in Washington D.C. she is a TV anchor. She received a Bachelor of Arts in English literature from the University of Pennsylvania after growing as a child in New York City. Mitchell was hired by KYW Radio and TV as an Philadelphia reporter in 1967. She became a reporter for the CBS-affiliated WDVM-TV, (then WTOP) and was stationed which was based in Washington DC. She joined NBC News Washington two years following that as an general reporter. In 1981 she began covering the White House. In 1988 she was named head of the congressional reporters. She was promoted to the chief White House correspondent in 1992 and the chief foreign affairs reporter of NBC News in 1994. Mitchell hosted and was a panelist at the TV program Meet the Press. Mitchell was on an audience for the 1988 debates between George Bush (then president) as well as Michael Dukakis. Mitchell got married to Alan Greenspan the former chairman of Federal Reserve Board. Mitchell was awarded numerous honors for her journalism achievements, such as the Goldsmith Career Award from John F. Kennedy School of Government in 2005. The award was presented to her with the Leonard Zeidenberg Award from the Radio-Television News Directors Association in 2004. Mitchell began reporting on the White House in 1981-1988, both during Ronald Reagan's presidency. Mitchell covered a variety of notable news reports, including weapons control, the budget tax as well as the Iran Contra scandal. She also traveled to numerous summits in the company of the President Reagan with Mikhail Gorbachev.
